Jazmin Berakha is an illustrator, fiber artist and costume designer residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The most striking of her work are her embroideries. They consist of figures and garment, utilizing a soft contour line to define the body contrasted with a frenzied and detailed pattern highlighting parts of the garment or environment the figures reside in. There is a whimsical and effortless feel to the pieces. Berakha's work is born of a land where synchronized swimmers have the best patterned suits and a quiet moment reclining on a sofa becomes animated with color and design - in short, a world I want to live in - or at least visit for a while.
